About Boiled Hard
Boiled Hard is Thomas Roche’s blog of hard-boiled crime fiction, true crime and related terrors.
Thomas is a fiction writer in many fields, but is best known for his erotica. He has for some years been an obsessive reader of crime fiction and a particular fan of the romans noir of Jim Thompson, James M. Cain, Charles Willeford, David Goodis, and the not-quite-romans-noir but still bad-ass crime novels of the early John D. McDonald, Donald E. Westlake writing as Richard Stark, and Lawrence Block.
Roche’s first novel, horror-science fiction zombie apocalypse The Panama Laugh, was released in September 2011 by Night Shade Books. It has been compared by reviewers to the novels of Jim Thompson, Hunter S. Thompson, Raymond Chandler and Tom Clancy.
